Tax Letters: Taxation of Private Corporations: Proposed Measures – Sample Letter to MP

Date: September 2017

On July 18, 2017 the Finance Minister introduced major changes to the current tax system. If enacted, the proposed changes will have negative fiscal consequences for small businesses and professional corporations. A summary of the proposed changes is available on our website through the following link: https://crowebgk.com/tax-letters/taxation-private-corporations-proposed-new-rules/

We believe each individual affected by the proposals should contact their local MP or the Minister of Finance to express their opinion. The changes are significant and those affected should not be passive while the Minister completely revamps the tax laws currently in place.

There is currently a consultation period with regard to the proposed changes that ends on October 2, 2017, your opinions should be sent before the consultation period ends.

We have prepared the attached sample letters which may be sent to your local MP or the Minister. We invite you to customize the letter as you desire.
